New Market is located at Interstate 81's exit 264 in
Virginia. There is also an interstate rest stop near this exit. Resting between Harrisonburg and Mt. Jackson, New Market had a population of
1,637 residents in the 2000 census. There were a total of 737 households, and 431 families
residing in the town. In and around town, there are many antique dealers, bed and breakfasts, and
other shops to visit. New Market is also the location of a civil war battlefield museum.
